CE Zoom has created a state-specific Tracker for each license type to help professionals understand what CE renewal requirements are needed and how to acquire credit to satisfy those requirements.
Each Transcript or Tracker is broken down into sections that identify ways CE Credit can be obtained:
Step 1: Log into your CE Zoom account at www.cezoom.com
Step 2: From the professional dashboard, under the License Information, click "View Transcript" or from your menu bar click "Records" then "Transcript"
Overview: The first box will give you the basic description and values of your State's overall CE requirement hours, and a quick link to your State's rules and regulations.
Within the Overview you will see the following sections:
Completed: The sum of all CE credits that have been completed
Applied: The sum of CE credits that have been applied from the sections within the transcript. (Note: If you completed credits for any sections within the transcript that were 'required but the credits were not counted' OR credits went in an 'Exclusion' section, those will not be added in the sum)
Needed: The sum of additional credits needed to fulfill the total credits required.
Max Home Study: The maximum number credit that can be taken through a Self-Study method. Any additional credits taken above this amount will not be applied.
Requirements: The entire transcript is separated into sections that identify the various ways CE credit can be earned. Sections are titled with the name of the individual requirement and identify the specific details of that requirement. The section will list all CE courses that have been taken and applied to the requirement as well as the total credits 'Completed' and 'Applied' toward satisfying the particular requirement.
Find Courses Button: To help you acquire any additional credits needed, The 'Find Courses' button (located in the upper right corner of the individual requirement section) will assist you in finding the specific CE courses eligible to satisfy the particular requirement.
EXCLUSION: Typically the last section of your transcript is identified as 'Exclusion' or 'Courses not Eligible for CE Credit.' All CE credits that your state regulating agency does not allow will be listed in this section. Some reasons CE courses will be allocated to this section may be that the state regulating agency does not allow the specific course topic or the course educational provider to be eligible for the renewal of the license or permit. The CE course certificates will be stored within your CE Zoom account but the credits will not be applied to the total CE credits required.
Minimum Credit Hours Required: Some sections of the transcript may identify a specific minimum number of credit hours. This means that in order for a particular requirement to be satisfied, you must, at least complete the identified amount of CE hours in order for the requirement to be satisfied in full. The status bar within the section will display the progress toward completing the requirement in full. Once the minimum CE credits have been applied to the requirement, the status bar will turn green and display '100% Complete.' Subsequently, the overview section at the top of the transcript will also acknowledge that the 'Needed' CE's will decrease or drop down to zero if no other minimum requirements are needed in any other section.
Minimum Credit Hours Required with a time frame: Some sections may have a minimum credit requirement AND a time frame associated with satisfying that requirement. The time frame my be shorter or longer than the CE renewal period. Both the minimum amount of credits required and the time frame will be identified within the section.
For example: The image below shows the section CPR/BLS Certification, which requires a minimum of 3.00 credit hours to be acquired every 2.00 Years. The CE renewal period for this particular license tracker is every 3.00 years. Within the section there is a warning to the user, 'Renew your expiring CE before 01/16/2024' and the status bar is orange but says '100% Complete.' This is to help identify to the user that while the requirement is satisfy, another CPR/BLS certification will be needed before the renewal period ends. Additionally, a warning will also appear to alert the user that a CE has expired and the associated date.
Maximum Credit Hours: Some sections of the transcript may identify a specific maximum number of credit hours that can be allowed. This means that while the courses or activities identified in this section are eligible for credit, there is a limit to the number of credit hours that can be applied. Once that limit has been reached credits earned above that amount will not be applied to the total CE credits required.
No Minimum or Maximum Credit Hours Identified: Some sections of the transcript may not identify a specific amount of credits required NOR set a limit to the number of credits that can be allowed. This will be identified within the section as 'unlimited.' This happens when a state regulating agency allows an unlimited amount of CE's credits in a particular area, with no restrictions. Often this section of the transcript may be where a majority of your CE courses are allocated.
Required but does not count toward CE total: Some sections of the transcript may identify a specific requirement however the credits earned in acquiring the requirement may not be eligible to be applied to your total CE credits required. This is usually identified this way because the state regulating agency has specifically called out this requirement but said that it cannot be used to satisfy the total CE hours needed, it is something in addition to the total CE credits required. An examples of a requirement needed but not counted may be a state mandated CE course/training on Preventing Sexual Harassment or something not related to a CE course such as, maintaining Proof of Professional Liability/Malpractice Insurance. These both can be required for license compliance and renewal but the time spent satisfying the requirement may not be used toward the total CE credits.
Approve Providers: Particular sections of the tracker may state, 'This group has required providers.' This means that in order to satisfy the individual requirement, the CE credits must be issued by one of the listed approved educational course providers. A course may be taken that satisfies the required subject matter BUT the educational provider was not approved by the state regulating agency to deliver the course, the credit hours will not be applied. The section will acknowledge that you completed the course and display the credit hours earned as part of the total sum of 'Completed' hours, however the credit hours will not be 'Applied' toward your total CE credits required. To view the list of approved educational providers for the individual requirement, click on "View Approved Providers" to expand the list.
Mandatory 'Live': Some sections of the transcript may identify the requirements be satisfied through a specific format. Mandatory 'Live' means that you must be in attendance, physically present at a course or (if applicable) a live webinar to earn eligible credits. The section in the transcript may indicated that this is applicable for the requirement by stating 'yes' or 'no' next to it. Courses or activities performed by means of home self-study, pre-recorded on-demand webinars, or on-demand internet courses will not be accepted when mandatory 'live' is required. Any organization using the CE Zoom platform for their course delivery will distribute CE Certificates that indicate if the course was held 'Live.'
Note for dental professionals: AGD-PACE standards identify webinars as live CE as long as Q & A is offered at the end of the course.
