CE Zoom Compliance & Commercial Support Standards (Overview)

Quick Overview for Companies: CE Zoom Compliance & Commercial Support Standards

CE Zoom adheres to the accreditation standards set by ADA-CERP, AGD-PACE, ACCME, and the AMA to ensure all continuing dental education (CDE) activities remain free from commercial influence and maintain scientific integrity.

🧾 Key Definitions:

  • Relevant Financial Relationships: Any financial interest within the past 12 months that could influence CE content; includes family member ties.

  • Commercial Interest: For-profit companies producing healthcare goods/services (excludes direct patient care unless owned by commercial interests).

  • Commercial Bias/Influence: Promotion of specific products or services within CE content.

  • Commercial Support: Unrestricted financial or in-kind support for CDE activities.

  • Conflict of Interest: Exists when an individual may influence CE content related to products/services from which they benefit financially.

🛡️ CE Zoom Safeguards:

  • Maintains control over all CE content, topic selection, speakers, and delivery methods.

  • Disallows any advertising or promotional materials during CE activities.

  • Requires that all financial relationships of planners and instructors are disclosed to participants.

  • Ensures independent review of all content to avoid branding or promotional bias.

🏛 Responsibilities of Commercial Supporters:

  • Must sign a Commercial Sponsor Agreement detailing unrestricted support terms.

  • May not influence content, speaker selection, or receive promotional preference within CE activities.

  • Support (financial or in-kind) must go directly to CE Zoom, not individual planners or instructors.

  • Support must be transparently disclosed to participants in materials and at the start of the activity.

📋 CE Zoom’s Responsibilities:

  • Retains full decision-making authority over CE planning, content, and speakers.

  • Ensures all promotional elements are kept separate from accredited CE content.

  • Prohibits product advertising in course slides, handouts, or audio/video materials.

  • Requires conflict-of-interest disclosures and uses independent advisory review to ensure balance and objectivity.

🤝 Sponsor Agreement Purpose:

  • Not a legal contract, but a document to formalize expectations and demonstrate compliance with ADA-CERP and AGD-PACE.

  • Outlines CE Zoom’s unbiased educational mission and the commercial supporter’s commitment to unrestricted funding.

  • CE Zoom offers visibility options (e.g., newsletters, third-party emails) in alignment with both parties’ goals, handled via separate marketing agreements if needed.
